Why Trading?

We live in a world that tries to encapsulate us in certain expected behaviors and if we don’t comply our chances of getting what we want vanish. We are expected to go to school, choose a profession, follow a religion, get married, have children, etc.

Trading provides a small chance to change that and live in our own terms. I’m well aware that around 80 to 90% of the traders lose their money in about 12 months but there is still a small chance of success. The way I see it, living trying to fulfill someone else’s expectations has a higher rate of failure.

The market won’t care about who you are, no distinction about your gender, skin color, religion, education, country, etc. You have the chance to beat a professional trader that went to Harvard with no need to prove your worth to anyone else. Keep in mind that trading is a mentally brutal activity, a journey full of frustration and risks. You can start trading the same day you open an account but that doesn’t mean you should.

Trading might be one of the last few corners in the world where nothing but your skills and mindset actually matter.
