How do I get the industry classification for a particular stock?

I use the Global Industry Classification Standard (GICS) developed by MSCI and S&P. I track around 2,000 stocks and the only way I have found to check the industry is the Fidelity page below, I had to manually check each of the symbols I track:

Will the access always be free?

That's very unlikely, the first few months will be an experiment, then if the blog doesn't work I'll shut it down as it consumes money and a lot of time. If at least it shows some encouraging results eventually I'll enable the subscription options in order to be able to keep financing my work.
